Moab!

We went to Moab with some friends last weekend and had a blast!
Lincoln slept through the night both nights! Such a good baby.

The plan was to have a picnic up at the Delicate Arch. We finally made it only to realize that we had left our lunch in the car, along with my nursing cover. I had to wedge myself into a little crevice in the ground to nurse Lincoln it. It was exciting. Despite what it looks like in the pictures there were people everywhere.

7 months!

I somehow missed Lincoln's 7 month mark. It was the 16th. He is growing up so fast!

He loves his hands, and using them to stick anything he possibly can in his mouth.

His smile still melts my heart!

You see that bad boy? Lincoln's first tooth! This has made nursing lots of fun!
He is doing well eating his jar food and loves graham crackers!
He loves reading books.
His favorite toy is the remote control.
He loves water. The Lehi pool is his favorite.
Still working on crawling.
Finally sleeping through the night.
He loves to give kisses.
He says "all done" when he is done nursing or eating his jar food.
Lincoln continues to be the light in our lives. Love you baby!

California

Last week Will had an interview in California. Lincoln and I decided we needed some sun, so we joined him.
Lincoln loved the beach! He was fascinated with the waves...from a distance. He wasn't too keen on me sticking his feet in though.

Lincoln and I hung out at the pool during Will's 7 hour interview. I think we had more fun.

Lincoln liked our bed.

After the beach we walked along the Santa Cruz board walk and found the most amazing thing ever!!!!! A Giant Slam-a-winner arcade game, which happens to be my favorite! I thought the small version was awesome, this one blew it away! I told Will I just had to play it. He rolled his eyes and helped me find change for his 20. I won 35 tickets and I went to cash them in and claim my prize.

Then I hear Will yell "Wait come back".
He couldn't control himself either. He won 250 tickets. Best 5 bucks we ever spent.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi Mommy,

Its Lincoln. I just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to you and tell you how much I love and appreciate everything you do for me. You are such a wonderful mommy even when I keep you up all night. Really, the reason why I don't sleep sometimes is because I miss you so much and want to be with you. I hope you have a great day today and daddy spoils you for me. He's helping me write this since all I could get out was "a wa ba ba" and small grunts. He knows what I mean though. Anyway, I love you and will try not to pull out your hair today. Just for Mother's day though.

Love,

Lincoln

P.S. Here's a video of me swimming to make you smile.

The job hunt ends!

The day after Wills interview in CA with Sandia National Laboratories, he got a job offer from Cain-Pollock Inc here in Utah! I think I might be more excited than he is about staying here but we are both very happy that he got the job! Wahoo! I am so glad the job hunt is over, what a load off!

Trouble shooting

Thanks for all of the great advice! I am going to have to do this more often! I think that mostly we need to be more consistent with naps and bed time. We were doing pretty good when he was about 5 months but then he kept getting sick and it threw everything off. It gets a little tricky figuring out getting Will and myself to work, and getting off work at 7 but we just have to make it work. Since you all have more experience than me I thought I would through out a few more questions.

#1 I have tried two naps a day, one around 9 and then another around 2. By the time we are leaving work around 6:45 he passes out in the car. Do I wake him up or let him sleep?

#2 Occasionally Lincoln decides that he only wants to take a half hour nap. Do I add a third nap later in the day to make up for it?

#3 Do you let them Cry it out if they are teething or sick?

Thanks again everyone!

P.S. Lincoln did sleep from 8-3 and then from 4-7 last night! Progress!

A little help?????

Let me prelude this with letting everyone know that Lincoln is an amazing baby! I am extremely grateful for the joy he brings to our lives. We are lucky to have him. But Will has had blood shot eyes for the last 3 weeks, and I have a never ending headache. Lincolns sleeping habits are out of control! I know that some babies don't ever sleep through the night but he is waking up 5....6....sometimes 12 times during the night. It seems like we have tried everything! He hasn't been nursing in the night for the last 3 months...he just wakes up and needs his pacifier. We have tried putting him to bed with out his pacifier, letting him put himself to sleep, letting him cry it out, putting him to bed earlier, putting him to bed later, giving him solids, shorter naps, longer naps, I don't know what to do!?!?! Anyone have any suggestions???? What are your schedules like. Lincoln goes to bed at 8:30 and wakes up for the day at 7:30. He eats at 7:30, 10:30, 1:30, 4:30, and then has solids at 7:30 and a bottle at 8. He takes 1-4 naps and is on a eat/wake/sleep routine. I don't know what else to try!
