Merry Christmas Eve!

We spent Christmas Eve at my moms house, which inevitably led to the annual manger play. My mom split the role of Mary between me and my sister as to not hurt anyone's feelings. Lincoln was baby Jesus. Disaster struck when the donkey came into play. Little did we know that Linc is terrified of masks. Blood curtailing screams from baby Jesus. It was pretty exciting. Anyway here are some random pictures of recent festivities.

Look at all this snow!!!!

Will went to St. George for a short business trip, so Lincoln and I had a date.
We stopped by to see the tabernacle.

We rode the train at the mall. Lincoln loved every minute of it.

Santa!

We had a ward party last week and SANTA CAME! Lincoln was no where near as excited as I was.

On a side note, here are pictures from Will's 10 year high school reunion.
This is how I stayed entertained while Will walked around talking to people I didn't know. That's right we had a contest to see who could launch the most olives into the glass. Since I don't take the two guys I was playing with as blog readers, I'm going to go ahead and tell you that I won.

Will Pimping it up.

bye bye binkie

We did it! Lincoln has been binkie free for the last week. Wahoo! I was nervous but he did pretty good. It's bitter sweet. I still remember how much joy I felt the first time Lincoln had a binkie! (No more ET tube) And now it's gone, my baby isn't a baby anymore.
He is also pretty much done nursing. Which is also bitter sweet. With how much I struggled with it you would think I would be jumping for joy the day I was done. But it has turned out to be such a special, bonding experience. It's good to finally have my body back to myself. It's nice to wear whatever I want to, and eat what ever I want to, or as little as I want to. It's nice to leave him with a sitter and not have to worry about how he will eat.
It's crazy how fast Lincoln is growing, time flies.

California

We spent Thanksgiving in California! I was loving the warm weather, so nice. We had an amazing dinner, went to the beach, and basked in the sun. Friday we went to Will's 10 year reunion. Then Saturday we went to Magic Mountain. We had a blast!

We stayed at Will's brothers amazing house. This is the view from the backyard.

Someday this picture will haunt them.

Lincoln was so tired! He fell asleep in Will's arms walking to the care.

A few of my thankful things....

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with food, family and fun.
I can't pass up the opportunity to write a list of things I am thankful for.

First and foremost I am thankful for the Gospel. I am grateful for the peace and comfort it brings.

I am grateful for the power of prayer.

Words can not express how grateful I am for my miracle boys.

I am grateful for friends and family. As I look back at facebook, email and blog messages I am overwhelmed by how many people offered assistance and words of encouragement. I wish I had the time to respond to each one and express gratitude for there willingness to help.

Modern medicine, highly trained surgeons, kind nurses, firefighters, and EMT's.

Will's boss. He has been so understanding and generous. He himself is fighting cancer, so keep him in your prayers.

My job. I had a dream that I got fired last night and I cried my eyes out.

I am thankful for the simple things in life,
My hair straightner
Nail polish
Raspberries
Ice cream
Mascara
Tivo
Rain
My Camera

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!!

Growing ike a weed

It's been exciting to watch Lincoln grow and develop. He has started imitating us, which is fun. When I feed him oatmeal in the morning I will blow on it and then offer it to him. He then blows on it and takes a bite.
We finally captured a video of him walking. Please ignore the flood pajamas, Will got him dressed.

Normally we would decorate the tree the day after Thanksgiving, but since we wont be here we decided to do it early. Check out our $50 Christmas tree!!!! (Thanks KSL) Lincoln sure liked it.

November 5th

One year ago today Will and I sat in the surgical waiting room at Lucile Packard Childrens hospital. I remember completely surrendering to Gods will. Pleading for everything to go as planned and to once again hold my baby in my arms, but still accepting any outcome. That gave me peace.

As I look through the October 2009 pictures I am filled with so many emotions. I don't want to forget the emotions and experiences. When Lincoln reaches his arms up and wants to be held while I am making dinner, I try to remember how I wished I could hold him every second. When he grabs his dinner and throws it on the floor, I try to remember how lucky we are to have him.

Practically living in a childrens hospital brings you a whole new perspective. We met so many amazing people. People who had a longer and harder road than us. I try to remember that there are others who have heavier burdens than I. We also met many people who were willing to give so much to make our burdens lighter. I try to remember how much we are loved.

I wish that I could make a list of all of the people who have made such a difference in our lives. There are simply too many people to thank.
Thank you for all of the prayers from friends and family. Thank you for all of our ward members who brought us dinner, and prayed constantly for us. Thank you to the Palo Alto ward members(including Steve Young) who took us in. Thank you Soni for showing up time and time again. Thank you Dr. Reddy, you are an amazing surgeon.
This picture brings me so much peace. I can remember the complete serenity I felt finally having our baby home.

What a year.

Nothing to Blog about......

As of lately, our lives have been pretty chill. I hope it stays this way, just for a little while.
Although my mind is constantly running crazy. I have so many unfinished projects, so many things I want to do. I have yet to post pictures of our new house. Why? Because I was waiting until we had it all decorated. It turns out that decorations cost money. So it may be a while.

I would love to,
Write more
Sew more
Work out more
Eat better
Paint
Do more photography
Keep my house immaculate
Read to Lincoln more

All I need is motivation. Right now, Lincoln and I both have a cold. Bla. I will have to find motivation next week.

Happy Halloween!

On Saturday we went to Thanksgiving point. It started raining like crazy on the way there, but I was determined to get Lincoln a pony ride.

Lincolns first pony ride!
We had a Halloween party on Friday. It was lots of fun! I am so grateful for our amazing friends!
Mario, Princess Peach and Yoshi.
Happy Halloween everyone!!!!

Family Pictures

I was finally able to try out my new tripod! It's a lot easier than trying to balance my camera on random objects.

Happy 1st Birthday!

Lincoln turned one on Saturday!!!! Oh did we party! My baby isn't a baby anymore, he is a one year old little man! We are loving every minute we spend with him.

Lincoln knows how to pose for the camera.
We had to stop him after he devoured half the cake.

Will, Cassidy and I spent Friday night making the cake!
Thanks to all of those who helped us celebrate!
