First words

They took the ET tube out at 830 this morning. Then they took out his art line. The nurse and I were talking about my baby and she asked Will what his name was. He said "Lincoln" We both looked at each other and started crying. We weren't expecting him to talk so soon. Will is recovering very quickly. There is still a long road ahead of us but he is trucking right along. I am now certain where Lincoln got his strength from. I am so blessed to have two strong men in my life. He is talking more and more, and remembers all of his loved ones. I love him so much and can't wait until he can come home. Thank you for your prayers!

Happy Birthday Baby!

Thanks for keeping us posted Cara. You are a strong woman yourself to have to see both your boys go through such difficult things. I'm glad he spoke on his birthday :)

I am literally jumping for joy!! Words cannot describe. Perfect birthday gift for Will---talking to you, his wife! It all sounds so wonderful. Keep strong and thanks for keeping us all updated. I know everyone appreciates it. We'll continue on with prayers and good thoughts.

Will and Cara,
My first blog ever and, under the circumstances, Teri and I are overjoyed with the positive news! Happy Birthday, Will, and next year, I hope Cara can take you to a place with a similar setting (room service, etc..) but in a more secluded location! All the principals are pulling for you, as well, so both of you continue to stay strong and we'll continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers!

We are so grateful for all of your updates, and so glad to hear that Will is doing so well. (Curt even gets on to my facebook account multiple times a day to check if you've updated your status!) You are still in our thoughts and prayers, and we hope things continue going well. You are both so strong--it truly is inspiring. Happy Birthday Will!

So good to hear that he's doing so well. We've been praying for you guys constantly. You are such great examples of what it means to have faith and endure. You can do it and you will pull out of this stronger and better. We have had so many strong impressions through our prayers that Will is going to be ok. It's so good to hear how well he really is progressing. Please let us know if we can help...babysit, meals for you, whatever. Take care!
