We have graduated from the CVICU! Hooray! Lincoln is enjoying his new living space, and I guess we kinda like it too. We have a private room, with a private bathroom, a t.v., a couch, and room service. I am finally getting the hospital experience I missed when I gave birth. Lincoln loves his huge crib, it makes him look so small.
We asked the doctor today if we were in the safe zone to buy plane tickets home, she said Saturday night would be pretty safe. His discharge date is Friday or Saturday as long as his chest X-ray looks good. So we went ahead and bought tickets for Saturday! It's hard to believe we really get to come home!

Yay! So exciting that y'all get to go home soon. I'm so glad that he's doing so well.
finally you get to go home! i bet you feel so much relief. i am so glad that everything has turned out ok! even though it wasn't under the best circumstances, i am glad that we got to see you guys and meet little lincoln. he is adorable.
Hey- he is finally swaddled up like a little burrito for the first time! woohoo!
Oh my word! Congratulations! I can't believe it's finally coming to an end! Lincoln looks so cute in his new crib--it's too bad you couldn't have been in that set up all this time. :) So, this might sound like a dumb question, but are you guys flying on a commercial airline...with Lincoln? That just seems crazy to take him straight out of the hospital and onto a public plane. I remember the first time we took Tucker out after being in the NICU so long, we were so paranoid about all the germs and stuff. Are there any special precautions you have to take? And that's kind of a bummer that you have to buy the plane tickets--can't Medicaid pick up that bill too? :) We're so excited for you guys. Hope everything continues to go well, and hope the feedings are going well too!
We are so excited! As far as the plane ride goes I am terrified, unfortunately the commercial flight is kind of our only option. We will get a doctors note to bypass security and we will put a mask on him, then pray like crazy that he doesn't catch anything. I don't know about medicaid paying for the tickets, we will have to check into that.
Yeah!!! I am so glad you will be home for Thanksgiving! I am washing all of the clothes that don't fit Kolby right now so that they will be ready for him to wear when he gets home if those newborn ones don't fit. I have 0-3 month onsies and little sockies and beanies and blankies for ya. I can't wait to see you guys! He looks so tiny in that big crib:)Love you! I will get all of that stuff ready for you K.
FINALLY! It must be so surreal. We will pray that everything goes well with the flight, that he won't get sick. And if medicaid will pay for the flight, you should most definitely go first class. Haha. :-)a
Yay! Yay! Yay! I'm so glad you get to enjoy that private room for a bit, but I'm sure I can speak for the ward in saying we are so so glad you guys are coming home! I'm sure Bosco is excited too :)
Sorry--I just re-read my comment, and it kind of sounds like I was saying YOU were the crazy ones for taking him on a plane. I didn't mean that! I realize that's you're only real option, I just hadn't thought about that part before. Sorry about that! You guys are doing great!
OK---I'm a cry baby. I am just so, so, so happy and soooooooooooo excited for you!!! Going home, at last. I love the pictures of Lincoln in his "big boy" crib. He does look tiny there. But, oh, home sweet home. We're at the temple tomorrow, so I'll put y'all's names on the roll. xo
ok, we are going to denver this next week for thanksy so i know you guys are gonna have a ton of people wanting to visit and meet the incredible hulk that is lincoln as soon as you get home, so hopefully when we get back it would be ok and underwhelming for us to visit! just let it be known when you arent being swarmed anymore so that we can stage a tiny invasion of love.
Oh my goodness! I am so excited for your amazing and beautiful family to go home! yaaaay!
